It’s not an exaggeration to say that UX Passion people are music lovers, so this will be the 2nd year UX Passion has proudly supported SAWA.
It’s not an exaggeration to say that UX Passion people are music lovers. During our job interviews we will ask you what kind of music you like – and believe it or not, that is actually an important factor in our hiring process. There is no correct or wrong answer, but the music you listen to, the bands you follow and the gigs you visit tell us a lot about you.
All that being said, we are also passionate about giving back to society, to causes and efforts that we consider to be worthwhile and SAWA is certainly one of those.
Why?
While we believe it’s more than enough just to say that we LOVE music, there’s even more to it. We cherish alternative and independent thinking, the alternative music scene and the entire DIY (do-it-yourself) ethos and culture. In the time of mass media and the ironical situation that people are flooded with more information than ever, most people are still refusing to think out of the box, question authority and challenge social dogma.
The established system of norms is more important than ever. We are not here on some mission to support the destruction of society, but we are here to help SAWA and all other social disruptors to challenge accepted principles and help us create a better, more open, more connected and more fair society. Yes, music can do that!
So, for the fourth year in a row, on July 13 and 14, the punk / hardcore SAWA Open Air Festival will be held at the Poloji beach in Županja, Croatia.
This festival guarantees a great time and fun for all punk / hardcore people and it is considered to be one of the most prominent open-air events of this type in Croatia.
Still not convinced? Then take a look at the lineup…
It comprises 12 bands – from the melodic HC punk veterans Debeli Precjednik (Fat Prezident) from Croatia to legendary crossover thrashers D.R.I. (Dirty Rotten Imbeciles) from USA, all the way to Vitamin X, HC guys from The Netherlands known for their straight-edge orientation. And that’s not all – Last Hope, Black Gust, Deer in the Headlights, All Except One, What Matters Most, Final Approach, Nulla Osta, Left in Ruins and My Turn will guarantee some badass HC / punk fun during the hot Croatian summer.
Entry? It’s free! This is a festival based on the DIY ethic with the motto “From friends, to friends!” – and you’re invited. Besides good music you can expect cheap food and drinks, great DJs and a lot of fun. Since this is a DIY fest, badges, patches and t-shirts will be offered so feel free to spend some time and money to support this festival and keep it running next year as well!
Sick? Yes, we are. And music is our medicine!
