It's peak of conference season and Wall of Tweets is travelling to some fabulous events in all corners of the world. See what we got up to in just one day...
Today is a really fun and inspiring day for the Wall of Tweets team at UX Passion. Rather than keep the excitement to ourselves, we thought we’d share with you the fascinating and diverse things people are doing with Wall of Tweets, our popular Twitter wall solution.
German computing giant Wincor Nixdorf is hosting Wincor World in Rheda-Wiedenbrück. This is a large exhibition covering IT equipment and processes in the retail and banking sectors. With devices like ATMs and cash registers in question, it’s perhaps not the first venue you’d associate with social media activity. But the attendees – some 7000 of them – seem to be enjoying it:
Not so far away in Vienna, Austria, there is the fascinating and highly important congress of the European Resuscitation Council. This is a gathering place for medics and manufacturers of equipment (among others) specialised in saving lives after heart attacks, accidents and other emergencies. Again, doctors, like lawyers and accountants, are not the first people you’d think would be active on Twitter. Well, you’d be wrong!
We watched, transfixed, as people tweeted about the strong emotions they felt listening to the stories of people who had survived after being given emergency CPR:
Equally amazing, and fascinating for us as UX designers, is the plethora of apps designed to help save lives that were showcased at the event. For example, the Zoll Pocket CPR app (from the Twitter account you can see in the above pic) is available as an app for iPhone and Andriod platforms, and is designed to help ANYONE learn how to administer life-saving CPR. We’ve downloaded our free copy already – what are you waiting for?
The social media team have done a fantastic job promoting the Congress’s social media channels, even providing instructions on how to tweet:
…and as a result, the Twitter buzz was running high for some days even before the beginning of the event. This is the right way to do it! Well done, all!
The team set up their Walls of Tweets in social media corners so that people can wander up and see what their fellow professionals are talking about:
The ERC Congress team went for a digital signage solution integrated into the Twitter stream, which helped guests with orientation around the large venue.
And finally, in Singapore, our friends at Edelman Singapore held an astonishing event – a fashion show promoting designs from the Zalora chain of stores, and BlackBerry’s stylish new phones. As one Tweep said:
And never have we seen our Wall looking so good – right there by the catwalk! We’ve integrated the tweets right into the screen of a BlackBerry Bold.
The show featured a performance by legendary Singaporean drag queen and entertainer Kumar, who had perhaps the last word of the day:
Well, Kumar – we think it’s about time you went mobile and downloaded a CPR app! ;-)
Wall of Tweets was our first product putting into to practice our passion for great user experiences. (The second is on its way, with Sidekickr TV…) It fills us with joy to see people having fun with the designs we’ve come up with. Thanks to all our clients – we value your enthusiasm and creativity so much, and truly enjoy working with you.
If you’d like to find out more about Wall of Tweets, please have a look at our (woefully outdated, new version out soon, we promise!) website, or get in touch with us here at UX Passion.
