Information Architects has released their fourth iteration of Web Trends Map series. As always, it’s pretty nice visualization showing current trends in Internet space and positions of different companies within it. But number of weird typos also comes as a part of package :)
releases their Web Trend Map publication. In this release there are 333 most influential web properties (domains) and also 111 most influential people.
iA team has used Tokyo Metro map as an inspiration and guide line and all domains have been carefully selected by iA research team.
I am big fan of information visualization techniques, infographics and related stuff so this comes as a nice addition to my growing collection.
But truth be told, there are numerous mistakes on map – most of them are really just typos, for example FaceBook, FireFox, DeviantArt, IMBD – they should be Facebook, Firefox, DeviantART and IMDB… I mean, came case looks weird especially if it really is not a brand-like kind of thing.
Also, honestly, I am a bit surprised to see Jeff Bezos associated with Facebook instead of Mark Zuckerberg. And then again – they use Adwords and Doubleclick instead of AdWords and DoubleClick.
OK, I am probably just nitpicking but I just can help myself with this kind of stuff. But hey…
